PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS VISITING DEPARTMENTS OF THE DSEA
Within the Engineering Week project the DSEA departments invited the Kramatorsk Lyceum No. 4 "Success". School No. 4 became a lyceum recently. Its students began to participate in the city's science events, such as the Small Academy of Sciences DSEA. Not only to participate, but also to win prizes in the field of engineering.
Therefore, on January 17, 2020, a meeting of students and teachers of our Academy took place at the Lyceum No. 4 for the purpose of popularization of engineering knowledge and showing its importance for our lives and with the aim to encourage students to enter the Donbas State Engineering Academy. Representatives of the DSEA departments told the children about the latest technical developments and researches and demonstrated advanced equipment that allows experimental research at a high scientific level.
The schoolchildren were interested in everything: what the students study, what knowledge they can gain at the Academy and where the graduates work, as well as the prospects for personal development. They received comprehensive answers to all these and other questions. Our departments provide training in specialized laboratories and computer classrooms equipped with modern expensive equipment and licensed software from leading manufacturers in the field of automated electric drive and software for technological processes and complexes.
Departments of Computer Information Technologies, Automation of Production Processes and Computerized Mechatronic Systems, Tools and Technologies are working on implementation of new educational and professional training programs in the medical field within the Erasmus + "BIOART" project. The Department of Computer Information Technology demonstrated tablet-and-laptop-controlled machines and augmented reality. In particular, the tablet allowed to see various volumetric images of human organs. This software was created by student Dzerzhinsky Ihor within the framework of the diploma design. The Department of Computer Mechatronic Systems, Tools and Technologies impressed schoolchildren with 3D printing capabilities.
Students’ great enthusiasm was arisen by the Baggy robot from the Department of Electromechanical Systems of Automation. The robot itself supports Bluetooth and can become an easily manageable platform that includes a number of activities with varying levels of difficulty: from simple line crossing to passing a complex maze. But most of all everyone liked the layout of the excavator. With its help the schoolchildren transported various loads, transferred them from place to place, built a pyramid. In this way, everyone was able to touch the engineering world a little. In addition, it should be noted, that for the second year the department carries out a section of robotics and information technology for the students of the city.
Through this event students received interesting and useful information about various professions. Such activities are important, they help children to realize that the right choice of profession is the main condition for success in life.
